Many people fighting addiction reach a point of exhaustion. Maybe you’ve tried the traditional 12-step program or have been through multiple treatments only to relapse again. If you’ve been actively seeking help but are stuck in the cycle of addiction, it might be time to try something new.
At the Sanctuary at Sedona, you’ll find a holistic program individualized for each participant. Our goal is to identify and heal the root cause of your addiction while supporting your body’s recovery journey. By the end of your stay at the Sanctuary, you’ll have the tools you need to enjoy life again.
Admission to Our Addiction Treatment Center in Arizona
To ensure we’re the best fit for you, we have a standard admission process every applicant completes. Each step is designed to ensure you receive the care you need and understand our program before making a commitment.
Our admissions team is available seven days a week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. During your initial call to the Sanctuary, we can answer your questions about our treatment options and will listen without judgment. We recognize that asking for help takes courage, and our team’s approach reflects that.
If the Sanctuary seems like a good fit, we’ll set up a pre-screening phone call with our admissions team. To complete this screening, you may also speak with one of our licensed therapists or wait while we consult with our therapists. Every conversation we have with you is kept private and confidential.
Because of the personal nature of our treatments, we only accept 11 to 12 clients at once. There’s generally a three- to eight-week waiting period for new admissions, so calling us sooner rather than later is better.
Once an admission date has been chosen, you’ll fill out an online registration form and pay a deposit for your future private room. All other details, including pre-detox programs, the length of your stay, medical paperwork and transportation, are finalized between your initial registration and arrival at our campus.
What Individuals Benefit From Our Drug Rehab Center in Arizona?
As one of the best rehab centers in Arizona, we work with many different compassionate professionals to help you heal. We specialize in a few key areas to offer the highest level of treatment. If you or someone you love struggles with something on the following list, we could be a good fit for you:
- Depression or anxiety
- PTSD and trauma
- A range of addictions

- Bipolar disorder
- Personality disorder
- Psychotic disorders
- Eating disorders
- Complex medical diagnoses
If you or a loved one lives with one of these disorders, there are many other excellent centers in Arizona that can help you heal.
What Types of Aftercare Do You Offer?
Our connection and support for you don’t end when you leave our program. We offer aftercare support to help you continue the healthy habits you’ve developed at the Sanctuary:
- Each client receives a dedicated Aftercare counselor who was on your treatment team while at the Sanctuary who you have already developed a strong relationship with. They know what your strengths and potential challenges and can help you integrate your recovery back home.
- Weekly Group Process Therapy sessions with clients you went through the program with. This group helps support with the everyday challenges of reintegrating into your life, the pressures, responsibilities, and triggers that are inevitable.
- Weekly alumni weekend support calls and Sunday activities: The Sanctuary is more than a treatment center. We are a community. We have a vibrant and supportive alumni group that gets together every Sunday to participate in on-campus activities and enjoy a meal. One of our staff members also hosts an alumni Zoom meeting every Saturday. We have alums from 10 years ago and from 10 days ago all sharing experiences and supporting one another.
- Alumni retreats: The Sanctuary’s alumni retreats offer the rare opportunity to meet like-minded people dedicated to wholeness and healing. During our retreats, you can also participate in similar practices that we do in our residential 30-day program, and these retreats create a space for deep healing and connection.
During our program, we help you unearth inner pain and equip you with tools to heal and build a life you love. Our aftercare programs are designed to support your transition from our campus back into the real world.

Treatment Plans and Programs
Our treatments are administered by professionals, many of whom also struggled with trauma, anxiety and addiction in their past before starting their own healing journey. Their compassion and education equip them to support your healing journey, one treatment at a time.
Programs follow a schedule that starts around 7 a.m. and ends around 9 p.m. Most of your time is spent on scheduled treatments, but there’s also some personal time and space incorporated for you to process while alone. Some sessions occur outside for maximum benefits when the weather allows.
If you already have a faith practice, our therapists will incorporate that into your sessions. Our goal is never to pressure you externally but to help you unpack what’s happening in your internal world. You’ll develop personal strategies to heal and live your fullest life with enough time and one healthy choice at a time.
Our treatment plans are customized for each individual who stays with us. Depending on your progression during the day, we’ll adapt and adjust your schedule for the next day. This level of customization ensures you receive the optimal treatments to help you heal in your unique situation.
Our Team and Campus
Our campus for rehab in Arizona is surrounded by acres of beautiful national forest, allowing residents to connect with nature. We do allow technology, and residents may communicate with family during their stay. Our campus is very comfortable and combines group therapy with individual sessions.
Because we believe nutrition is so important, we serve residents meals that use whole foods and ingredients you can understand. Many people who struggle with addiction are malnourished. Supporting your body is key to helping with addiction recovery, healing brain chemistry, balancing hormones and more.
Currently, there are eight full-time staff who live on campus and are available to residents 24/7. Staff come from a variety of backgrounds and eat with residents, providing you with plenty of opportunities to lean into your healing journey. Our founder, Dean Taraborelli, also lives on campus for most of the year.
