My Sanctuary journal notes:
Kelly made me feel accepted and special from the first night when she picked me up at the end of the road and hugged me. Her ability to always be chipper and upbeat is a gift and skill I admire and aspire to live up to. She has actually given me some "trade secrets" of how to turn my energy around in a moment’s notice when needed. Her ability to explain the journey work and share her own experiences with the work really simplified the process. And her genuine passion for me, all the guests and human beings is intoxicating. I love when she uses the term "wild eyed and ornery", how she is so animated especially when she talks about kundalini and grabs her lower belly and how she always wants a full on, genuine hug when we meet or part. One of the biggest ah ha moments with Kelley were when we were discussing using intuition and following those feelings. It dawned on me that my little voice has wanted me to do or not do many things but I was always fighting it. Because of that conversation I realized I should speak my truth about how I feel and not go to meetings I have been uncomfortable going to. This is huge and will free me up to first of all not be in fight or flight mode, and secondly use that time much more creatively.
Dean had the most impact of any one individual. From the analogies and stories that helped make his point, to the connection of one tortured soul to another being able to relate, to the powerful healing sessions on the table, to the beauty of the ceremonies, how intimate, individual and special they all made me feel, and through to his quirky sense of humor and vast array of knowledge on so many subjects. His ability to make me feel comfortable enough to cry, to trust in processes that don't make sense, to do things I didn't understand just because he said so. His influence inspires me to study shamanism and to take on being a medicine woman. His journey is truly one of turning a bad situation into a fulfilled, abundant and totally outrageous life and that helps me tap in, get tuned in and turned on to what my life has in store for me.
All the practitioners and staff are so passionate and enthusiastic. From the therapist and other healers to the chefs, housekeeping and total staff. The sincere desire to make every experience meaningful permeates that atmosphere. Being at meals, in conversation and totally engulfed in the shamanic way of life has truly been the greatest gift of all.
