In a time of turmoil and desperation, our family was fortunate enough to be referred to The Sanctuary in Sedona, Arizona. The experience has been a virtual "sanctuary" for all of us. Our much loved and amazing son has been struggling with a substance abuse problem for the past seven years. We supported him in every way we could, but traditional treatment facilities were not long lasting solutions to this terrible and debilitating disease. The helplessness and sorrow that became so much a part of our everyday lives was all-consuming. After contacting The Sanctuary and talking to people who have become empowered there, by changing their lives in a totally different approach, gave us a tiny glimmer of hope. Our son made the journey to Arizona and really hasn't looked back since. We were given the wonderful opportunity of joining him there for a few days. What a beautiful, peaceful setting - the desert itself seems to exude a positive power and energy! It is a place where the spiritual and practical meet; a gift of hope and enlightenment for all of us. The path is not an easy one as it took many years to reach the desperate place in which we found ourselves embroiled. With wise counsel from the entire staff of qualified and dedicated people at The Sanctuary, we began to understand the roots of many issues and move forward in the healing needed for our minds, bodies, and souls. If you have a loved one who needs what our present system of health care fails to address, please consider the life-changing work of Dean Taraborelli, Kelley Alexander and their dedicated staff. We have our son back, and through continued hard work and their committed support he has found the path to a healthy, happy, and meaningful life. The Sanctuary is truly a blessing for our entire family unit, but most importantly for our son.
